My 3 month old had developed a bald spot on the back of his head from his cotton crib sheet and I was really on the fence about what felt like splurging for silk crib sheets but I just felt like having his little hairs yanked at night must be so uncomfortable so I just went for it. He went from waking up every 2-4 hours (with an occasional 6 hour stretch) to sleeping a full 8.5 hours two nights in a row. This is incredible. After searching for what seemed like forever... I finally found true silk fitted sheets for my daughter's crib. Charmeuse is not a type of silk but rather a type of weave. When silk is manufactured in a charmeuse weave, it gives the fabric a smooth, shiny finish on one side and the reverse (or backside) has a soft matte finish. In a charmeuse weave, the warp threads cross over four of the backing weft threads. This creates a lightweight silk fabric with a beautiful sheen perfect for bedding, robes, and sleepwear.
